Undergraduate Students:
Bennett Goellner: Bennett is an undergraduate student at the University of Georgia majoring in both geology and chemistry. He primarily does research with organoclays and sorptive properties on radionuclides like iodine and strontium. In his free time, he likes to travel and bake
Graduate Students
Emily Erard-Stone: Emily graduated from Bates College with a B.S. in Geology. Her research focuses on contaminant hydrogeology, transport and mitigation of radioactive and heavy metal contaminants in groundwater. Specifically, she has studied the sorption of iodine on nature-based sorbents.
Jessica Brown: Jessica is a 2024 Washington University in St. Louis Alumni with an A.B. in Earth and Planetary Science: Geochemistry. At UGA and the Savanah River Ecology Lab, she is completing contaminant transport research with a focus on the interactions between radioactive cesium and natural organic matter.
Monica Percino Rivera: Monica received a B.S. in Chemistry and Geology from Centenary College of Louisiana. Her research focuses on sorption of contaminants by natural-based sorbents like biomass ash, biochar, and minerals.
